Tap the gallery icon shown on the start screen, or open the menu in the top-right corner and tap the gallery icon. Pick a video from your photo library to open it.
TickScrubo can open any video your device's photo library can play, including MP4, MOV, M4V, and HEVC (H.265). This includes videos recorded at any frame rate, in any orientation, and at any resolution up to 4K HDR.
Drag horizontally on the timeline at the bottom of the screen. The ruler follows your finger. Drag vertically (up or down) on the same area to change zoom — pulling up zooms in for finer scrubbing, pulling down zooms out to scrub more fast.
Zoom the ruler in until the zoom indicator shows 1.0x or smaller. At that point you have frame-accurate control over the playhead.
It tells you how many frames advance for the same horizontal drag distance. At 1.0x — the deepest zoom — that's a single frame, the finest scrub possible. At 5x it's five frames; at 100x, a hundred. Lower numbers mean finer control.
TickScrubo's ruler renders a hierarchy of ticks based on zoom level. As you zoom in past a threshold, smaller, lighter sub-ticks fade in between the main ticks to mark finer time intervals; they fade back out when you zoom out. This keeps the ruler readable at any zoom — sparse when scanning the whole video, dense when frame-stepping.
Use a two-finger pinch gesture on the video itself. Drag with one finger to pan around when zoomed in.
Open the menu in the top-right corner (three-dot icon) and tap the rotation icon. Each tap rotates the video 90° clockwise. Most videos detect their orientation automatically — use this only if the auto-detection is wrong.
Tap the speed button at the bottom-right (it shows the current speed, e.g. 1.00x). A list appears with seven choices: 0.25x, 0.50x, 0.75x, 1.00x, 1.25x, 1.50x, and 2.00x.
Tap the speaker icon in the bottom-left of the controls. The icon changes to indicate the current state.
Tap once on the video area (not on a button) to toggle the bottom bar and top menu. Tapping again brings them back.
Scrub or play to where you want the loop to start, then tap the gray "AB" button — point A is set there. Move to where you want the loop to end and tap the "A" button — point B is set, the loop activates and starts playing automatically.
Tap the "AB" button a third time. Both points are cleared and the button returns to its initial gray state.
With an A/B loop set, the Loop button decides what happens at point B: enabled, the player wraps back to A and keeps cycling; disabled, it pauses at B after a single A→B play. With no A/B loop set, the button toggles whole-video looping at the end of the clip.
